Milestones are a key way to organize your projects.
In your WordPress admin area, go to UpStream > Milestone Settings. This is where you input each of your Milestones and the desired color for each one.
The Milestones that you set up in the Milestone settings can be used across multiple projects. So once you have added Milestones in the Settings, be careful if you go deleting these as they could be used by other projects.
For example, imagine a project called “New Website Design”. The project runs from January 1 to April 30. Inside the project, you may have several milestones:
- Complete initial design mockup: January 1 to January 31
- Building the website: February 1 to March 31
- Final checks and launch: April 1 to April 30
Types of Milestone
UpStream provides you with 5 default types of Milestone. You can use these to help visually identify the stages of a project.
These help to categorize your Milestones, as you can see in the image below:
Inside each project, you can add as many milestones as you need. Each Milestone has 5 settings:
- Type of Milestone
- Assigned To
- Start Date
- End Date
If you don’t want Milestones on a single project, you can disable them for a single project by checking this box in the Milestones Settings area:
You can also disable Milestones for all your projects by going to UpStream > General Settings and checking this box:
