What’s Next With UpStream? Better Conversations
Earlier this month, we released the Calendar View extension.
The next major new feature is coming very soon. We’re working to improve the conversations you have on projects.
The goal is to integrate native WordPress comments into UpStream.
When this is done, you’ll be able to add comments to tasks, bugs, and files. On the frontend of your site, you would see a “Comments” tab like this:
You would also see an area that is only for discussions about the project in general:
We’re leaning towards using native WordPress comments because this adds the least overhead to sites running UpStream. You should also be able to utilize features such as comment moderation, and reply-by-email.
Over to you
Integrating with WordPress comments makes sense to us. However, if we’ve learned one thing in this first year of UpStream, it’s that you have equally good ideas and suggestions.
We’d love to hear from you! What kind of discussions would you like to see for UpStream projects?
Leave a comment below, or email us: help@upstreamplugin.com.
Beside overhead, WordPress comments might also be a good idea because of how many plugins, etc that already integrate / support them. However, this is my favorite commenting system – https://wpdiscuz.com/
Thanks Matt. Yes, we hope that UpStream users would be able to rely on other integrations if we do this.
This is awesome and I can’t wait until this new feature is added. This would be a GREAT new feature!!
Wonderful, thanks Simone. We’re very much user-driven and a lot of people told us they wanted this.
